Shamini Jayanathan OBE

Shamini is a British barrister based in Kenya. Called to the Bar in 1996, she has extensive experience in prosecution and defending all manner of crimes in the UK. Since 2012, she has worked with prosecution, judicial and law enforcement authorities across Africa. Her initiatives in criminal justice reform have been replicated globally by NGOs and IGOs alike. She is a recognised expert in the network for the Global Initiative against Transnational Organised Crime and she is an associate tenant at Foundry Chambers, London. She has designed and implemented rule of law programs on behalf of the Foreign and Commonwealth Development Office, the United Nations Office of Drugs and Crime, and international NGOs.
